| CIAO!!!!!! Hello everyone!!! This is my 3rd full day in Florence Italy!!! I am going to try and write a little bit in here to keep yall up to date on what I've been doing. Also, I am posting my pictures in my yahoo photo album which yall can go to at:
TUESDAY May 23– Got to the airport around 9:30. Said goodbye to Dale which was harder than I thought it would be. We flew to Chicago-that flight was only about 1 hour and 10 min. We had a layover of about 2 hours in Chicago. Then our flight to Rome was 9 hours!!!! Longest day of my life. My earphones were broken so all the movies they played on the plane were in Italian. Heather and I almost went crazy. She looked like a cheetah girl.
WEDNESDAY May 24- Got into Rome around 7:30 AM. Took ghetto train to the city. 45 min ride. Had 2 hours the kill in the Rome train station. Had my first Italian food. PAID TO GO TO THE BATHROOM. .80 euros. It had black lights and everything. I felt like I was at club el toilet. Had my first gelato. So tired, sat on our luggage on the floor. Rode train for 2 hours to Florence. Took a taxi to the SAI office to check in and get cell phone and apartment keys. Took taxi to apartment. Checked things out and got settled in. Went to dinner with the group. Got gelato. Came home and wanted to go straight to bed. But no, we arrived the our front stoop roped off with construction tape. There was a gas leak and they were jack hammering into the concrete right below our apartment. Luckily I was so tired that I was able to fall asleep anyways.
THURSDAY May 25-Woke up and went to a café. Got donut and coke. School Orientation and buffet. Dont really like any other American students, all of them are kinda snotty. Walked to train station and stores with Ribar. Went to the fresh market and the supermarket, Standa. Later that night we Went to the river/bridge. Got gelato. There was live music and vendors. It was beautiful. Came back to the apartment and stayed up talking to Val, Kallie and Sylvia til 4 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!
FRIDAY May 26- Didn’t wake up til 12:30 PM. Ran over to the school’s campus to sign up for fieldtrips and switch my classes. I am now taking beginners Italian!! woohoo!! We then went to the travel agency to book our trips for next weekend. Its a national holiday on Friday so we are going to the chique terra Went to dinner, Heather met “dom” an Italian pizza maker that gave her his number. Bought peanut butter for 5.40 euros!!!!!!!!!
SATURDAY MAY 27 - Got up and ate breakfast at the apartment, then we had to go meet up with the rest of the Belmont group at 9 at the santa croche square. It was a full day of touring around Florence. We went

| You say you're falling apart. Reached the end of the line. Just looking for your place in an ordinary life. No one calls you friend. No on even knows your name. You just want to feel loved instead of all the pain.
You no longer have to say. No one's listening anyway.
Come here and cry on my shoulder. I'll hold you 'till it's over. I'll rescue you tonight. Let my arms be your shelter, You're hiding place forever. I'll love you more than life
You're wearing a frown. Given up on hope. My heart is reaching out. More than you will ever know. Is your burden too much? Is it more than you can bear? I'll help carry the load if you're willing to share.
You no longer have to say. No one's listening anyway.
Come here and cry on my shoulder. I'll hold you 'till its over. I'll rescue you tonight. Let my arms be your shelter, You're hiding place forever. I'll love you more than life
You have had some hard times. Had thorns placed in your side. I know about what you've been going though. Tears of pain are falling down. It hurts so bad you're crying out. Your problems won't last forever. Let Me put you back together
| Well…I am sitting here in the Orlando airport waiting for my plane to get here…I’ll be in Nashville in a few hours-Kenzie is picking me up and then I think we are going to go out with Bobby and his friend. I’m excited to get back-break was good, but I am ready to get back into the swing of things ya know?
Thursday was my birthday-I was glad I got to celebrate with everyone before I went home the next day. Although I was feeling pretty gross all day Friday. Amy got the party started early ha. I saw her in Beaman between classes and she took me over the circle k where we bought some mike’s hard lemonade. We then walked with our lemonade down the street so we were “off campus”. Haha Barrett met us at Bongo and we sat outside and drank our lemonade. Actually I had like 2 sips. But I felt hardcore. A group of us (me, Shelley, Kenzie, Lauren, Trung, Carol, Will, Richard, Heather) went out to eat at cheescake factory for dinner because I have never been to one before. I drove myself because we all met there, so I wasn’t even planning on drinking. But Richard bought me an Alabama slammer? I dunno-it tasted like cough medicine. Then me and him and heather had jolly ranchers-now those were good. So yeah dinner was fun. Then some of us went to Cabana which is this really really nice-trendy bar that just opened up. It costs 4 million dollars to build. Its crazy nice. Had some drinks…some were good, some weren’t. I really liked these things called melonballs. But then I was tired and done…so I had a rootbeer float with warm chocolate chip cookies and Kenzie took me home to bed. It was really fun-definitely not something I will ever do again in the near future. But hey-it was my birthday. The next morning I wanted to die….
I’m listening to the new Ginny Owens cd I bought-actually I don’t think its new “new”, but I just got it. I really like her stuff. Lately I’ve been obsessed with her and Watermark.
So yeah-break was cool. The first few days were a bit stressful and less than fun. But then my cousin Casie came into town from New York. I hadn’t seen her in like 3 years!!! She is 25, but her and I are the only girl cousins in the entire family so we’ve always been close. Anyways, last time I saw her Logan (her son) was just a baby..and now he’s almost 4!!!! It’s crazy. Little kids are sooo funny. He would get mad and put the pillow over his face and say “Don’t look at me…DON’T LOOK AT ME!” It was funny. And then he farted at the dinner table and I busted out laughing, while Casie is trying to punish him and tell him that is not a good thing to do. It was hilarious. It was really fun to spend the day with him…we played outside at the park, I pushed him on the swing for like 2 hours. Then we blew bubbles, and chased squirrels and lizards, played with sidewalk chalk and went and watched the boats come in. It was AMAZING. Kids are so cool.
My dad and I went to Discovery Cove and swam with dolphins one day! That was fun too. We went once before when they first opened, but it was even better the second time. The dolphin part was amazing but I just love the whole place. Its like your own private beach and all the food you can eat. Its like a cruise but on land haha. The food was sooooo good, I ate so much. Plus I ate like 5 shamu bars-my favorite thing in the ENTIRE world. It was also all you can drink beer for free-luckily I don’t like beer haha. I also discovered that no one looks good in a wetsuit. Har har. But that day was fun. I was soooo tired I slept on the way home. I guess snorkeling with the fishies and stingrays and sharks will do that to ya. Oh yeah-p.s. did you know there was such a thing as a miniature deer? There is-I saw one there. It was so tiny! I want one.
I became quite the sports fan over break. Taylor has a hockey game and a track meet. P.S. no one in my family even knew he was on the track team. Apparently he just joined. So we go to the track meet and Taylor is going to do the hurdles. Mind you-he has never done hurdle before. It was the funniest thing I have EVER seen. Him and Bone (his BFF) ran together and they were HILARIOUS. That was the highlight of my spring break. I also have come to enjoy the Stetson tennis team quite a bit-haha. Gooooo hatters. There is something about florida boys that is just so cute. I think it’s the tan…and the clothes.
One day I went to Orlando and played with Lizzy and Angelee. That was funnnn. We went out on Liz’s boat and hung out at her place. I love those girls to death. We went and got snow cones at this ghetto place on the side of the road. They were the most delicious snocones EVER. Too bad the guy was like super shady and kept making snow balls and throwin them at us. Liz looked naked. Ha.
Yesterday was my favorite day of break. We went to Jacksonville to see the boys play JU in baseball-but also I got to see THE BABY!!!!!!! One of my very best friends, Brandy, was preggo. Duh. But she wasn’t supposed to have the baby til April, so I was planning on going to visit her and stuff before the game right? Well she had the little stinker early, on WEDNESDAY!!! So we got to go see her and baby Nathan. Ohhh myyyy wordddd. Cutest baby ever. Seriously, you know how sometimes newborns are ugly because their face is like squishy? No, this was a beautiful baby. I just sat there holding him forever. He was so tiny and beautiful. Babies really are so miraculous. God is great-don’t believe me? Hold a newborn! He was so so so little. He didn’t cry once. AGH-I cant wait to be a mommy. So yeah I heart baby Nathan. We lost the baseball game-oh well. They play them again today and tomorrow. Goooo bruins.
So yeah-break was busy but good. I miss everyone in Nashville though. I cant wait to see everyone. I really have been blessed with some great friends this semester. Its crazy. I miss Shelley!!!!!! MY freakin BFF that haven’t seen in a week. She is such an encouragement-cant wait to hang out with her tomorrow. I talked to Barrett over break, he is a great guy. So crazy that we’ve had classes together every year since we both started at Belmont but didn’t become friends til this semester. He is a good, good guy. We talked on the phone for like 2 hours and I didn’t even realize it…it felt like 5 minutes. Good listener, he gives great advice. Like I said-very blessed. Thank you Jesus for good friends!!! The plane is here…..I’m going home…I will post this online with pictures once I get back to HillSIIIIIIIDE what what.

| well! just got back from dropping off the family at the airport. i am exhausted but it was so worth it. i have had so much fun the past few days. my family came to town, one of my best friends (brandi) came in from out of town, and i had a kick butt PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes-so thursday night the family got to town. then friday brandi got here, i skipped both my classes. we just hung out, ate, and then went to get hair and make up done for the partay. THEN shelley, brandi and my family went to hard rock for dinner. i'm not big on the food there, but the atmosphere is always fun. we sang and danced. then we headed over to the nashville city club. i had never been there before so i was kinda nervous...but it was SO nice. anyways we had our own private room to party hard in. including a DANCE FLOOR. holler. so yeah i had SO MUCH FUN. i hope everyone else did too. we had an ice cream sundae buffett with all sorts of toppings. it was so good. and we had a sparkling grape juice fountain. it was so bad-a. hahah. We sang lots of karaoke...and DANCED. oh my word, it was soooo fun. shelley and i sang "I wanna dance with somebody"...the baseball boys sang me a BSB song. brandi and chels sang me "i will survive". It was so so fun. then we had birthday cake...RED VELVET CAKE. it was so freakin good, and they put red punch in the fountain to match the red cake. It was a blast. And all my friends were there...the heron girls from freshman year, the beaman family, baseball boys, girls from church. everyone!! we totally danced to "Come on ride the train". oh yeah. AND we danced to SHOUT! it was AMAZING. i love my family so much, and i was glad they got to meet all my friends. so yeah-pretty much the best birthday party ever..and my actual birthday isnt until thursday. ha.
the after party was at my apartment lol. that consisted of me and brandi falling asleep in my room, and chels and taylor falling asleep in the living room. Well, aparently we snore loud? because while we were all sleeping security came and told us they had a noise complaint about us. silly b-po. so yeah....sleepovers are fun.
today was fun too. we went to downtown franklin and ate at pucketts which is the most adorable restraunt ever. went shopping. ate at christophers pizza. and now they are flying back to florida. all in all, great weekend. I am BLESSED with amazing family and friends. love you ALL so freakin much.
